@Michele--good try. It's actually Katahar also called Chataigne because of its resemblance to chestnuts. It's often used the same way breadfruit (so good call!) is and increasingly for stuffing turkeys in the Caribbean (yes, you heard right! Turkeys)@Krissy: How do you think you might peel it? What might it taste like? What would the whole fruit feel like in your hands?

Might be tart, not sweet and looks difficult to eat. A kind of fruit that would scare, not tempt me.
